About your trip

 The Hybrid Tours

Travel like you've never done before with unique immersive experiences

Here's what one of our guests had to say about us:

"The Hybrid Tour was my first group trip and one of the best travel decisions I've ever made. I was surrounded by a wonderful group of people all willing to learn, grow, and have lots of fun! Our guides/facilitators were the best I've ever had. They skillfully led us through hard conversations and fixed any obstacle we encountered. Plus, they know how to have a good time. Our talks with local activists were also invaluable. 10/10!"

Jordan - the best country to start your journey into the Middle East and the one that will make you fall in love with this region. We're including the classics, as well as some off-the-beaten path spots most tourists skip! We're showing you the AUTHENTIC version of Jordan.

To support humanitarian causes and better understand the region, we will also be meeting with refugees (people who have been displaced) and activists from Palestine, Syria and Iraq. If you are curious, interested in TRULY learning about the world and combining this with adventurous travel and other like-minded travelers, this trip is for you.

Venturing to the north - Jerash, Ajloun then back to Amman

After breakfast, we will have a chance to visit Jordan's green north. Our first stop will be Jerash. The archaeological site is regarded as one of the most important and best-preserved Roman cities in the Middle East. Forget any Roman sites you've seen in Europe. We promise you this is better.

After Jerash, continue to Ajloun. This town is mostly made up of a castle that was used as a pilgrimage intersection between Jerusalem, Cairo, Damascus and Mecca, and it's still incredibly well-preserved.

Back to Amman to explore the Citadel, one of the city's most popular archaeological sites. Dinner and overnight in Amman.

Meals included: breakfast and lunch

As-Salt + Joining Locals

This day is all about going off-the-beaten path and interacting with locals. We'll first head out to As-Salt, where we'll be walking around the beautiful, preserved streets to learn more about local life.

Afterwards, we'll be driving a very special place.

This is a community of women who transcend social boundaries. The cooperation exists to keep their culture alive, protect the environment, and to provide meaningful employment for local women in the village, many of which include refugees.

We will be taking part in one of their workshops. This is a surprise! The only clue we're giving you is that it will require a bit of upper-body action.

You will also get to meet some local families and have a tour of the coop.

After we head back to Amman in the late afternoon, you'll be free for the rest of the evening.

Overnight in Amman.

With locals in Amman | Exploring Dana

In the morning, we'll be meeting with a local organization that helps refugees in the region. Jordan, due to its geographic location, is host to refugees from many countries in the region. We are being hosted and welcomed by them because they are eager to share their stories. This is a unique experience and we expect you to be respectful as guests.

After lunch, we'll drive to Dana to get to know this charming village through its local trails. We'll be spending the night in Petra.

Meals: breakfast and lunch

Discovering Petra

After breakfast, you will marvel at the beauty of the Lost City, the Red Rose City of Petra, exploring its many caves and tombs.

After a 20 minute walk through the main canyon, be ready to be speechless at the site of the Nabateans city, now one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World.

After a guided tour, you'll be free to spend the day at your leisure roaming around Petra, exploring the area and taking pictures.

Exercise level: easy to moderate. It's mostly flat but if you go all the way to the Monastery expect lots of stairs.

Optional activity in the evening: Petra by Night

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Overnight in Petra

Day 6

Little Petra and Wadi Rum

Most people only visit Petra for a day and skip Little Petra. We will get the chance to walk through an 8,000 year old excavated village. Since it's less visited, it has a completely different atmosphere.

After Little Petra we'll head out to Wadi Rum - a desert with the most reddish colors you've ever seen. How red is it? Movies like The Martian and Dune were filmed here. These are some of the most otherworldly views you've ever seen. We'll have lunch then go on a Jeep Tour of the area for 3 hours.

We'll be back at the camp for sunset and a dinner party. We're staying at an authentic Bedouin camp, where our food will be cooked under the sand - the Bedouin way!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Overnight in Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum and Floating in the Dead Sea

This is where our trip starts to slow down. You'll have the morning off to sleep in or explore the surrounding areas around the camp.

After an early lunch at the camp, we'll head to a resort in the Dead Sea. We're staying at the only Jordanian-owned resort in the area! We're only supporting local businesses, of course.

You're free to explore the property, or go down to the shore of the Dead Sea: the lowest body of water on Earth, and one of the saltiest ones. You can't sink here! Scrub some mud, which is amazing for your skin, and enjoy floating!

Tip: do NOT shave for at least 48 hours before going in or it will BURN.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Overnight at the Dead Sea
